Hello, I’m Sarah Hartley. I have a background in journalism innovation at Google and The Guardian with a passion for the ways journalism can tackle social issues. I’ve founded The Northern Eco as a innovative way to share news about local environmental issues here in the north of England. But rest assured, I’m working hard to avoid this being a doom-laden offering. There’s so many smart people with solutions out there that I hope to amplify their work where I can to bring us all a bit of much-needed hope.

You don’t need to pay a penny for this weekly newsletter as I’m starting out for free and there will always be a free option. If at some later date, you do choose to subscribe with payments, not only will you get a warm glow from knowing that you’re supporting the production of independent journalism you’ll also get full access to the website. Over time I’ll also be setting up extra rewards such as events and exclusive content too.

Stay up-to-date

You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Every new edition of the weekly newsletter goes directly to your inbox.
