What's On: Eco Events from June 21 - 28
Events coming up in the next week have everything from 🌳Tees trees, a 🗳️ sewage related hustings and the second 💩 River Ure public meeting
Welcome to the 73rd edition of the The Northern Eco. Here’s a round-up of events coming up across North Yorkshire and the North East for those with a greener heart.

Unusual location for a hustings event but….the Surfers Against Sewage hustings is on tonight Fri 21 June 7pm - 8:30 pm at The Fosse car park area next to Richmond Falls. All the candidates looking for your vote have been invited - let’s see who shows up, it would be quite a crowd if they all make it! We’ll also be there to find out. NOTE: SAS also visited Wensleydale yesterday to support the campaign for the River Ure - full report here.
On today (online as well as in person) is the Tees Nature Conference 2024: Uniting for Nature’s Recovery Teesside University, Centuria Building
Victoria Road Middlesbrough from 9am - 4pm.
Restore Nature Now will be holding a march and rally in the capital tomorrow. Supporters will be gathering at Park Lane, London, W1K, between midday and 1pm on Saturday 22 June.
The Homegrown Food Festival is back for 2024 with an action-packed event for all ages taking place in the Applegarth area of Northallerton on Sunday, June 23. For this year, the theme is ‘Flowing together for cleaner water’ to shine a spotlight on the importance of clean, fresh water and some of the threats we face to our waterways and water supplies.
Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority holds its annual meeting at Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority Offices, Yoredale, Bainbridge, Leyburn DL8 3EL Tuesday, 25 June from 10:30am.
The second public meeting for those concerned about pollution of the River Ure in Wensleydale is on Tuesday 25 June at Leyburn Methodist Church Hall from 6pm. We’ll be reporting on this next week.
