Ground Nest Fest 2025 – Celebrating ground nesting birds
Although a common sight in the Yorkshire landscape, several ground nesting species such as the lapwing, and particularly the curlew, face an uncertain future as their numbers are in steep decline.
A unique multimedia installation that captures the elemental spirit of one of Britain's most dynamic coastal landscapes opens on Saturday 3rd May at the historic Spurn Point Lighthouse. Spurn: Rhythms & Reflections, created by sound artist Justin Morey and visual artist Ruthie Ford, is a collaboration between Leeds Beckett University and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

Disillusioned by the lack of support for sustainable touring within the arts, along with concerns about the impact and cost of audience travel from rural areas to venues in cities, she’s taking matters into her own hands and cycling from venue to venue to share her programme Good Again? with audiences far and wide.
